Violets on My Pants

Cashmere and mink trim short sleeve sweater by Prada
Wool and silk violet-print pants by Dries
Finsk wedge platforms
Gorgeoooous!! Im not sure if they actually are violet petals but who cares! I love Dries so much.
You're bored of my bag. I know, you think i should get over it. To that i say one thing: NEVAAAR!!! Plus it matches my pants.
First of all, widdy agool ina im sorry for the horrendous quality of all of my pics lately, ive been using my old Blackberry that i use just in K and im sure ina i left my Nikon's charger in our hotel in Yemen, and my amazing G-Phone doesn't work here (T-Mobile wayid ibi6oon il chabd).
And Villa Moda was kind of like visiting a fave relative's house while they're out of town. A relative who left a bloody TON of amazing clothes. That you can buy. Yves Saint Laurent still have one of the originally designed for Villa Caftans!! Amazing. And if you're a size 36, the most beautiful over the knee boots ever! In Manolo i liked these strappy mid stilettos with little mink balls on them. There is way too much i liked in Jeans Bar (now the warehouse) to mention but they have tons of Repettos and Viv Westwood and every color Generic Denim you could possibly want and mountains of Terry De Havilland! Beautiful floral Prada dresses from 07 that were formerly over 1000 are now NOTHING. Just over a HUNDRED. Nuts. The one i wanted was too small. Kill me. And you should just really check it out. Its worth it for sure. Good night.

I Went.

Went to Sliders yesterday. Sooo typical. They dont have vegan food so i was forced to eat meat. I wanted to go to Ginger.
Okay look lets get over the whole dressing down thing ya? We are Khaleejiyeen okay, we were born overdressed. So lets get with the program! I want to see more people in heels and "outfits" not "throw-ons" pleeease! Thank you!

Green Horn

correction- 2
I borrow that term from "Deadliest Catch" probs the only reality show i like. Oh no i like Cake Boss too. Who cares, this is in Perry's apartment in NY when i first dyed my hair green. As you can tell (:D) i was very happy. And it was the same day his parents arrived and were gona take us out to dinner. Some first impression huh? I burst in on them (hours late) with green hair, my new dark plum Tom Ford lipstick and a space skirt with Henry Holland alphabet tights. Hahaha. I sent this picture to a bunch of my friends as a surprise.

Blackguard

Kind of like a straitjacket hm? I decided on a simple outfit yesterday. no accessories, just plain black and worked with only textures and silhouettes. The first second i entered Avenues (shut up i was looking for Jimmy 24:7 over the knee edna boots-which they didn't have btw) some guy points at my boots and asks "shino hatha?" like its not obvious. "Hatha" my friend, is FAB. Jeggings by Uniqlo
Jacket by some rando brand called Jean Paul... something German. I took it from my aunt. I love how its just so pure. First of all the material is so soft and stretchy and the straps are so elegantly medical/asylum-ish. Not really military (thank God, i'm so bored bored bored of "military". Enough already! Second its nothing but an excellent (extremely comfortable) cut and these tabs. Perfect! And all the way up to neck, so just enough twist to keep it interesting and sinister.

Damn! My KTZs. Did in mention how light and comfortable they are? And they make me feel like i'm on a mountain (because they are so high, not cause they look like a Yak- and anyway i think Yaks are on steppes not mountains)
I didn't wear this but i felt this silver ball necklace matches with the theme. From a Korean shop in the Marais, Paris.

Stretchy Rose Dark Pastry with Liquorice

correction- 15
I'm feeling the texture, the loose, the paper-thin stretch fabrics in pleats. I loves these pants, they are so flattering (you need lots of static spray though!) and flowy and elegant. They fan out behind you as you walk, like butterfly wings. And the top is heavy and made from roughly cut mesh strips assembled into rosettes. I love the heaviness and wide neckline. Both top and trousers are by American Apparel
I love my tons of layered necklaces.

Pearl necklace with the small silver skull and long silver black widow from The Great Frog, London
Seed pearl and ruby necklace from some shop in Shimla, India
Small round necklace with small pearl by Tiffany
Small black bird's skull with gold foliage background by Noemi Klein from Beyond the Valley, London
Reproduction Faberge magnifier pendant from the Met shop.

I wanted something equally light-but-substantial on the wrists, which is why i didn't go for a cuff as usual.
Gold leopard bracelet by Kenneth Jay Lane
Vintage costume paste flower bracelet from Serena Modigliani on Via Frattina, Roma.
marni
So stretchy and soft
Finished off with 8 year old (yes, i bought them when it was entirely inappropriate, much to my mother's ire) Marni cutout, round-toe pumps in dusty rose.

Barney-is-a-dinosaur-from-our-imaginaaation-abc-and-1-2-3....

Check out this humongous acrylic sweater! Isn't it so much fun! There's this lady in my town who hand-knits them and this was supposed to be for tweens as a tunic but i was so fascinated by its wonderful ugliness that i just had to have it! And it was only $40! Imagine! She hand-knitted the whole thing and was so happy and wrapped it up all Christmassy for me and there is so much work in it! $40! 7aram! Nuts what you can find in a small town.
Check out this cool cartoon-Dinosaur effect!

Christmas Napkin

Everyone told me my skirt looked like a fancy tablecloth last night at my cousins' Christmas dinner. Thanks guys! Its soooo heavy and absolutely stunning, as you can see. Dinner was amazing we ended the night by watching absolutely hilarious childhood videos of us trying to dance ballet at my cousins' old house in the English countryside as their older brother diligently played the flute as a soundtrack. Stole this pic off jaijy.wordpress.com. Sorry J!

Another take on Herve

I wore this Herve Leger dress for my cousin's milcha when i came back in October. I love how it had the flattering signature bandaging but is completely different from all the others. It is a halter with beading on the straps and tulle skirt. It was so comfortable! Ignore the deliberately cheesy side-bend posing. I took these pics to send to my cousin T in Canada. :D I know the pics are so bad but I had my hair in a sharply pulled ponytail with chav-ish braided sides and Louboutin metal-spike heeled nude pumps.

Super-Super Old News: The "New" Kuwait Library

Last last June my friend Mims and I busted in on the construction workers in the new Kuwait Library on the ba7ar right next to Sliders. We just haaad to see it, book fiends as we both are, and made ourselves look all official and barged in. They were still putting on the finishing touches but overall both of us were quite impressed. I just wonder what kind of interactive programs they aim to put into place to encourage reading in K (since reading is seen to be strictly reserved for the classroom amonst 99.99999% of Kuwaiti kids) and if they will include English books. The one thing i didn't like was the fluorescent lighting in the upstairs study areas. I hate it and i cant concentrate with it, so thats especially annoying near the study carrels. Oh yes they have study carrels! Fun! You should all go check it out, Mims didnt even have any clue it existed before i begged her to visit before i traveled.
The kids' section. Mims fooling around in it.
Reception area.
Theatre. Very cool!
It took a while to sort out these automatic doors. They were so kind and showed us around.

Good Morning!

Spenderella in the City

Hey guys! Guess what? This morning i was sleeping, set my alarm for 1pm so i would be ready for my 3pm transport to JFK. At 8 in the morning BAM! HELLO WHOS IN THERE?? Willa these residential services ppl are in my dorm screaming at me to leave by 12 or they'll fine me and put alarms on my windows! Then my mum calls and tells me the flight i was supposedly booked for yesterday to K? Yes, overbooked! My travel plans cancelled for the THIRD TIME!! The THIRD TIME PEOPLE! What do i do? I have no where to go! So i immediately fivestaralliance.commed and booked a room at the Dylan in NY while i wait for a plane that wants to take me home. Well i didnt get to go to London but hell New York is not the worst place in the world to be stuck in! I arrived at my hotel (which is wonderful by the way, the rooms are spacious by NY standards and the decor is lovely (it used to be an old chemists club so they have beakers and stuff in the bathroom and room signs like labs). I left me fave Malo leather and cashmere gloves in the taxi im so ticked off! Anyway, i arrived and wasted no time in rushing to Opening Ceremony in Soho. And did what i do best, spend spend spend till my visa starts crying! The stuff was gooooooorgeooous!! I wanted a change of silhouette you know? I wanted to go for longs, sheers, laces, faux furs and velvets in stead of my usual bright colors, preppy-Charvet-susie-bubble thing. And strange kind of ugly but really atmospheric picture prints. I got this gorge long black OC skirt with creepy lace at the bottom which im gona wear with my Robert Clergerie teal velvet boots (i didnt buy them but i will- inshallah), this nutjob KTZ "gorilla" faux fur cropped leather jacket, a sensational patchy layered textured mini (i had to i had to) from this really cool Japanese brand called Toga and a super bodycon very... sensual (in a very interesting way) dress by Chris Kane aand..... MONSTER BOOTS from KTZ. Just thinking about them makes me want to kick someone in the face they so fierce!!! And i wanted to get these amazing velvet pants embroidered with pearls by Wang and these reeeeally cool flame colored Tron-OC collabo pants but ill get the Trons later they're new but the Wangs were waaay overpriced. I have no idea where these new designers are going with this pricing silliness honestly. I mean $1400 for a simple printed chiffon blouse Kane really? Really? But anyway i felt so bad, they kept the store open an hour and a half late for me! And the shop assistants in the Soho store are crazy nice and they couldnt stop playing with my hair which is all faded and Rodarte pastelly now. Fun fun. Lets hope nothing gets cancelled tomorrow and ill be a happy camper indeed!

what do you do when your flight to London gets cancelled TWICE in 24 hours and your shopping plans are ruined and you need to get out of middleofnowhere, USA? BUY CRAP.

Exactly as the title says. Was supposed to be in London by now for a 3 day shopping extravaganza in celebration of yay-i-lost-12-kilos-buy-i-want-to-cry-cause-i-was-supposed-to-lose-9-more-by-now. But then it snowed and they cancelled my flight. Then 15 minutes before i was gona go to the airport they cancelled my rescheduled flight!! Then i flipped and was like you can take your flight and shove it thanks for putting me on hold for half an hour! Then i called mama and was like "yo we have a problem". And i booked my hotel and the car and the appointments and i had an itenerary taking me from Machine A to KTZ to Roja Dove at Harrods for some Caron. And its RUINED. I had to cancel the trip after my airline said they couldnt get me there before the 21st. So im flying straight to Kate bacher inshallah.
So what did i do to celebrate my depression? Went to Walgreens and spent a ton on all this crap. All this Sally Hansen night repair, hard as nails Maybelline mascara and Hello Kitty plasters crap. Then, THEN i PUT NAILPOLISH!!

Aaah you know i havent (since this summer once) put nailpolish in over 6 years???? It just made me feel weird and fat for some reason. Plus i have ugly hands sans long elegant fingers so i just avoided it. And dont give me that your polish is so last year, im on that Chanel black pearl just you wait! Oh and usually when i go clubbing (never these days but wtv) i take flats with me cause i actually want to dance and i usually have to take one of my giantarse Marni bags which totes ruins my outfit. Soooo.... i found these really cool foldable flats in a little gold pouch called fast flats by Dr. Scholl at Walgreens. The best part? They fit into your gorgeous lavender Chanel mini classic flap with 18K gold hardware and leave room for money and your google phone!

No excuse me... that's MY gorgeous lavender Chanel mini classic flap with 18K gold hardware. Pics w outfits sometime in the fyootch. Take care now!
