#11: CAMEL MILK

Yups. Okay maybe this is shwaya ridiculous to be calling this a "habba" bes please don't try to convince me that all of those KDD households were also drinking camel milk this whole time. So lately Kuwait has been trying to reconnect with its roots and has been heading to Shuweikh il 9ina3iya where they sell tires and purchasing camel milk by the 2-liter bottle. I have been going with my mum for quite a while now (ee gabl il habba shtaboon im a trendsetter) and it tastes a bit sour and there is an aftertaste to it that is strange but not unpleasant. Overall.. i like it and its super-healthy so get on this one cutiyas! And even if you're not down going to Shuweikh il 9ina3iya where they sell tires, im sure Starbucks bi6al3oon Camel Milk Mocha Frappiccino any day now.

I just heard of this new accessories brand called Buddug in London. Ashya2hom are mostly things that can be cutesy bes i found many things that are beautiful and if worn the right way (my way- thi8a) will add the most wonderful whimsy to any outfit! And plus i love birds and feathers. The collar is MAZ and kind of reminds me of Miu Miu (I am a Miuccia loyalist obvs) and i would love to see those bird headbands on a girl with a 'fro. I think they would look spectacular!

#10: THE BEATS

Beats by Dr. Dre. As if they haven't been around for five million years. Suddenly all of Face-Kuwait has pictures of themselves minjamjeen ib their music, wearing their massive Beats. The girls love them don't they? They're so huge they make you look small and cute and ya7lailich and "umbayyy so cool profilepic!!!" And the guys love them too 'cause now my friends, it is cool to be "McChicken" (i cant even type that without cringing) and one up your friends with random remixes you were desperately searching for on Youtube just to give yourself some "edge". I see beats on Face, beats on blogs (now on mine1) and beats hanging off the necks of polo-wearing college and high school students in Avenues who have suddenly switched from Football to edgeball. They are excellent headphones but we allll know they are just the latest extension of the Kuwaiti statustech obsession. Guy in Costa leaning back into your armchair and "stealthily" staring around to see who-be-checking-you-out-rockin-dem-beatss... i know you got Rashed on your ipod. Dont pretend you're listening to techno.

Yo! Im in London

Done with the horrible exam period, DONE with my 40 page paper on Kuwaiti nationality law, done with not sleeping for four days in a row (i swear you no longer feel human after that), DONE with moving out of my dorm and now in LANDAN!! My favorite favorite place after home, ana Kuwaitiya after all! I came here was so so so so tired after (as prev. mentioned) not sleeping for FOUR DAYS and i had brunch with my friend Tb at Cocomaya and then slept for TWENTY-SIX HOURS STRAIGHT mashallah 3alay!! Thats 1 DAY and two hours!!! As my friend Tb insists on repeating, i was settling my sleep debt. Apparently, there was a raging party outside my door, and some of my friends brought their DJ gear and were scratching up a storm, and people slept over and woke up and left and i was still asleep. And tonight we went to La Petite Maison and i had some moules and my God their French toast is divine! Aaaaaah London, cant wait to hit up the V+A, Saatchi Gallery, Brit Museum, have brunch at Fortnum and Masons, go to the Great Frog at the end of Neal Street and Year Zero on Beak and Beyond the Valley and stuff my face with those delicious fridge cake choc bars at Pret! oh divine bliss. Ill take pictures for y'all 6ab3an.

Rain Day Rain Day!!

Hey Guys!!! Who's happy?? I AM (Even if i have a 40 page paper due by the end of the week but whatevssss!) IT RAINED TODAY AND THE WEATHER WAS HOT!! Wooohooo! So the morning was humid and hot. I woke up anticipating the rain even though it was sunny and beautiful. I was sitting outside next to the grass talking to my cousin T and then it started raining. I felt flutter of excitement in my chest. The rain started coming down harder, my heart started pounding fast. Harder. I let out squeals of excitement. Then the sky broke and BAM! The oppressive heat and humidity broke and all the world started swirling with water and wind. I called my friend Kathlyn and we just ran to the biggest hill on campus and starfished for maybe 10 minutes. Starfishing is just lying spread eagled on your back, unmoving and soaking up rain, only occasionally moving your limbs (until you get eaten by a crow) just kidding about the crow part. Basically its exactly like being a starfish. But you can talk. She dragged me all across the mud and grass when i refused to get up, covering one of my fave Tsumori Chisato tops with dirt and plants. Then we proceeded to run around campus, being appreciative of this gift of nature. You got to give it respec' yo. Fab day. Now in Library. Back to work! Were supposed to get crazy weather on Friday! Inshallah!! I hope it rains on all of you too!! :D
