HELLO

Soooo. CRAZY CRAZY week. i had to read 3 books so far and one to go. ive been living in our library (which is totally amazing btw, which i will tell to anyone who comes within 5 meters fo my worn-out self, seriously, they have long wooden tables, brass lamps and OVER A MILLION BOOKS. hell. this is my version of heaven!!) okay this was before il 3ashr il awaker and ma agdar a9oom li2ana i have a medical problem (wallah legit im not making this up or using it as an excuse i actually really like to fast bes shasawy its really annoying). That other day, my "medical problem" spazzed out on me and i had to go to the emergency room, dont worry, nothing serious. But there was a "back to the nineties night that night and as you all know, i LOVE the nineties. And i had studied until my eyes wore out that week and i this was my ONLY night off. how annoyed was I? So i go to the hospital in the pouring rain and they give me a painkiller injection and VALIUM (heaven's chosen medicine). im totally doped up but of course since medicines dont have a normal effect on me i got dressed (grunge, plaid shirt and wrinkled mini with tights and messy hair), banged on my hallmate's door and was like: LETS GO! It was in this frat house south of campus (yes, yes this was my first FRAT PARTY. it wasnt one of the crazy frats so its fine. It was so much fun. They were playing all these nineties songs and there was enough space to dance but crowded enough to be fun and i was freaking out and so happy (thank you valium) and we were only there for less than half an hour when the fire alarm went off. No seriously like flashing lights and noise and all. everyone rushed out. and we discovered it was because the place had gotten so hot from the PEOPLE dancing that the fire alarm went off!!! how crazy is that?? doesnt it sound like something out of a bad rap song? of course the police came and "broke it up" and so we left. (but there was an Asian party the next night and i kind of took over as DJ. SO MUCH FUN but im not telling you about that :) ) But that was the first night i slept 3adil. Beautiful, tranquil, chemically-induced peace. I LOVE COLLEGE!! thats enough for now. i have work and im totally wasting time i dont have.. later!

First Day of Dorm Life

So get this. At my current university mamnoo3 (you read that right), mamnoo3 in3eesh off-campus. So where do i have to live for three years? In a dormitory. And i have to share a bathroom with boys li2ana i live on a co-ed floor bes my roommate is SO cute. She is Thai and wayiha imdawwar katkoota 7ail 7ail! Anyway, so i moved in (took me 4 taxi rides to move in but whtv.) o sitteen alf box min Amazon for me in the hotel lobby kil yom. So ams ri7t il 7amam abi a5ith shower. I ran down the hall in my bathrobe and got into the shower. Okay.. okay.. wain a7i6 il foo6a? I brought a tupperware o 7a6ait feeh kil ashya2i. You should know now ina there are very short divides bain il showers (same with the toilets) ya3ni i could see the top half of the person in the shower next to me's head and lower legs! NICE!! Sooooo not awkward if there was a guy showering next to me and he doesnt even have to make an effort to take a peek into my shower stall. Do i have to wear a mayo to take a shower ya3ni? Then i turn on the tap. cold. okay, wait.. one minute.. two.. my teeth are chattering... three a7awil a3ali il temperature and the cold water just gets stronger and splashes all over my stuff. Four.. Ahhhhh.. COME ON! Five.... what the hell?? I just take the soap and rub it vigorously all over and stand in the shower jumping from the cold. I think my curses could be heard across the hall. NIGHT. MARE. Im telling you.

But on the plus side. 7amdilla 7amdilla i LOVE my jam3a. The people here are SO nice. I get a million compliments on my tights every day and when i tell them im from Kuwait they all say "yeah wow! Thats so cool!" And they are all intelligent and wonderful and friendly and seem genuinely interested in getting to know you. I got into a reeally tough major and im so excited, i already have three books and 3 articles to read and we didnt even start classes yet! Today there is a drag dance that all the new kids have to go to and since i dress like a man most days anyway, i shouldnt be too uncomfortable! Fantastic!! So how's you life?
